Built for Busy Teams: Inside Claude Motion
Claude Motion repackages the slides, spreadsheets and screenshots you already rely on into compact animated stories you can preview, download and pass around.
- Rendered from Code, Not Stock FootageEvery clip is an artifact built on the Motion template — real code that brings the words, charts, shapes and pictures inside it to life.
- Tweak a Single Line Without Redoing the RestBecause the output is code, editing one figure, phrase or scene leaves the surrounding frames exactly as they were.
- Your Work Lands in the Artifacts TabNothing gets lost: each finished clip is filed automatically alongside the other artifacts you have created in Claude.
How Claude Motion Works in Three Steps
From a blank prompt to a finished MP4 — here is the whole workflow behind Claude Motion.
What Claude Motion Brings to the Table
From the starter template to the final download, Claude Motion handles explainers, data visuals and how-to sequences in one place.
Start from the Motion Template
Open the Artifacts tab, pick the Motion template and tell it what kind of animation you want to see.
Name the Audience, Screen and Runtime
Saying who will watch, where the clip plays and how long it should run gives you a far tighter result.
Bring Your Own Decks, Data and Screenshots
Upload the source material — a slide deck, a dataset, a screenshot — so every frame is drawn from your real content.
Made for Short Explanations and Data Stories
Brief internal announcements, leadership dashboards and how-to sequences are exactly where this tool shines.
Save the Result as MP4
Once you are happy with the clip, the Export menu lets you pull it down as a standard MP4 file.
Private Until You Decide to Share
Fresh clips stay visible to you alone; you choose when to share, and admins set whether links can leave the company.
Common Questions About Claude Motion
Answers on plans, permissions, storage and export for Claude Motion.
Which plans get Claude Motion, and is it switched on automatically?
It is in beta for Team and Enterprise. Team accounts have it on from day one; Enterprise keeps it off until an owner enables it.
How can admins turn Claude Motion on or limit who uses it?
Availability sits under the Artifacts section of Organization settings. Enterprise owners can go further and scope access to specific groups through custom roles.
Will it produce lifelike video of real people?
No. The output is code that animates text, charts, shapes and images — there is no photoreal footage or human likeness involved.
Where do finished clips end up?
In the Artifacts tab, next to everything else you have made — that is also where you start a new one from the Motion template.
How do I download or hand off a finished clip?
Use Export, then MP4, to save it locally. Until you open a clip and press Share, nobody else can see it.
Do these clips use up my plan's usage allowance?
Yes. They draw on the same allowance as your other Claude work, and a complex clip costs more than a standard message.
Ready to Animate? Start with Claude Motion
Open any chat or head to the Artifacts tab, pick the Motion template and spell out the story you want told. On Enterprise plans an owner may need to switch the feature on first.
